For some good reasons, bikes with “hard tails” are still extremely popular. Most riders don’t want to demonstrate their courage on super-steep off-road terrain. Many prefer swift-to-fast trips through nature rather than exhausting the limits of ground adhesion. Hardtails like our Backfire are lighter than fullies because they do without rear stay suspension. They have less moving parts and are more economical to buy. But all those who want to use them under extreme conditions should be able to compensate the fullies’ comfort plus by means of riding competence – via good steering skills and “raised backside” to absorb impacts generated by the trail surface.

All Backfires share ancestry and history: They base on the very first MTB ever developed in Germany. All versions delight with a 100 mm suspension fork which can be locked comfortably from the cockpit in some cases. Another common feature is the sportive geometry which, nevertheless, ensures relaxed riding also over long distances. Design and frame tube shape are completely new.
