Fast, rugged, light-weight – the characteristics of our new Backfire Float family. This series promptly replaces the prior LRS models while the newly installed Float Link offers 100 sportive suspension travel millimetres as well. Especially with respect to racing, this allows rides on trails which might push hardtails to their limits. Our Backfire Float delights with no-compromise orientation towards propulsion. The Tapered Steerer absorbs even tough surface impacts while the supported one-pivot rocker link at the rear is perfectly integrated into the frame geometry. The fork “digests” 100 mm as well – enough to catapult experienced pro cycling artists even over rough obstacles. And enough for amateur riders who tackle difficult terrain with caution anyway. |
Needless to say that both athlete types benefit from cutting-edge high-tech components in equal measure: The versions Ultimate 3 and 1 are equipped with the new Shimano 10-speed shifting system. Our outstanding Backfire Float represents, in other words, a kind of “missing link” between the hardtail and fully categories – CENTURION’s “fastest” (since lightest) fully on the one hand, our model with the biggest concession to suspension comfort on the other. In comparison to bikes with “hard tails”, it offers of course a considerably smoother performance and more traction for the perfectly bearable price of slightly higher weight. Therefore a matter of taste – which might barely apply to our current frame design… |
