Cross-Country 29er

The female and male athletes of our MTB Marathon squad TEAM CENTURION VAUDE prefer to cycle on hardtails – interestingly not on ultra-light 26” bikes, but on brilliant brand-new versions with 29” wheelset! As a matter of course, the new frame is magnificent. But already the great concept of the big wheels provides perceptibly more riding comfort – right from the start, they keep on rolling and rolling until the finish line is reached.

The bigger footprint of 29“ wheels provides enhanced traction (e. g. for sprints or during critical situations) as well as better grip in curves. The additional comfort plus can be decisive especially with respect to long distances. Among other aspects, this essential factor defines if the athlete still has enough remaining power for an aggressive finish – or not.

Meanwhile, a 29” bike’s slightly higher weight plays only a minor role: Even the aluminium versions still cycle easily in the 11 kg class while our carbon models crack the 10 kg mark. The significant difference is the configuration of components. Generally, the Carbon Ultimate 3.29 is equipped with the lightest parts. But thanks to large-dimensioned brake discs and a 100 mm suspension fork with lockout option, the complete product family enjoys the same superb safety standards. Equally important: Our 29” models feature intelligently adapted frame dimensions. Therefore the pilot does not perceive any negative differences in comparison to a 26” bike – for easier “switching” and increased performance. Impressive evidence: The top results of our TEAM CENTURION VAUDE!
