The test report about the yellow No-Pogo, in a Mountain bike issue of 1999, was to blame. Grade “Excellent“ – and it was clear: No Pogo will be my next bike. Before, I had already conquered Alaska and numerous pre-alpine peaks on stud wheels, yet, in the years to follow, a virus of a special kind spread: “AlpX“. Meanwhile: 8x Alp crossing with CENTURION, one Nepal adventure along long-forgotten paths and numerous trails across the entire alpine region have not, however, healed the “virus“ of days gone by, but – on the contrary – even reinforced the passion and love for my sport.

If passion is the drive behind it all then the written word is the emission of my experience and adventures. So, it happened as it had to happen: The Alpine crossing report, initially written in 2002, and only intended for the “4 friends tour“ was the famous stone that kicked off the avalanche. From then on, the Alpine crossing reports grew more extensive, became more professional and – the feedback of the CENTURION-Spirit readers already suggested as much – more popular. Most recent highlight: My book “Faszinationen AlpenX“ (ISBN 978 - 3 - 9810890 - 9 - 7), written with plenty of emotion, published by “frischluft Edition“.

Biking is more than a sport; it is passion, meditation and a lifestyle of its own. Biking gives me joy and this, in turn, gives rise to a deep satisfaction inside myself. It's not about records, lap times or even top performance, no, it is quite simply a question of being, of getting closer to nature, of enjoyment, of sharing joy and, at the end of the day, during the nightly "body listening session", feeling the endorphins dancing inside of me. The fact that, for ten years now, CENTURION bikes have contributed to this “dance“ may cause you to smile but, as far as I am concerned, it also fills me with a bit of pride. Cooperation gave rise to friendship. A test report led to the firm conviction: once CENTURION, always CENTURION. I am looking forward to 10 more years of endorphins, emissions and experience.

And on that note: have fun, biking!

By the way: Meanwhile, the second part of "Faszination AlpenX" is out, once again published by "frischluft Edition" (ISBN 978-3-9812991-1-3, 19.90 Euro).
