Overdrive

Within the bike scene, our Overdrive is known as a sensationally swift triathlon machine – at the latest since it demonstrates a convincing performance as “working tool” of Michael Goehner: In 2009, the Overdrive dominated the competition at the renowned Roth Challenge (Bavaria, Germany) and catapulted the CENTURION triathlete in 7:55:53 h to his celebrated 1st Rank. In the summer of 2011, Goehner scored the second success on his “high-flyer”: At the tough Anniversary Ironman in Frankfurt on the Main (Germany), he qualified for the Ironman World Championship on Hawaii.

Already for 2011, our Overdrive was revised in agreement with altered UCI formalities. But according to experts, its still swift performance is as excellent as its design language: The fastest CENTURION bike has already been nominated for the “Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland” (one of Germany’s most sought-after design awards) which represents highest honours for developers!

In addition, our Overdrive does not only fascinate ambitious triathletes but also speed-hungry TT specialists – although these different bike disciplines are as far apart as downhill and XC racing. This is enabled by a patent-pending and surprisingly consistent innovation of our R&D department: The sophisticated “Modular Head” which allows optimum variation of the Overdrive’s effective head tube length. The latter can be adjusted conveniently between an extremely low-positioned handlebar for flat “ducking” against the headwind and a relatively upright position for ultra-long cycling distances. You might say, “No problem: Let’s raise the stem simply with the aid of spacers!” Then the CENTURION R&D experts will answer, “Ok, then please calculate your control centre’s lack of stiffness due to the longer leverage!” And will explain thereafter the brilliant concept of “Modular Head”: By means of special modules, head tube length can be extended effectively by 20 or even 40 mm while head tube stiffness is yet enhanced! In addition, the seat angle can be adapted accordingly and individually to achieve an always coherent geometry.

No matter if you intend to start your cycling season with a slightly more upright body posture or if your respective bike discipline’s formalities allow drafting and thus enable a less extreme aero position: In one single bike and equal measure, “Modular Head” offers all imaginable performance possibilities for triathletes and TT specialists. “Just besides” this elegant feature, the CENTURION Overdrive is designed optimally in terms of aerodynamics: It consists of a cutting-edge carbon fibre mix while all cables are routed internally. Moreover, the rear brake hides behind a special spoiler underneath the BB section.

Performance features
Due to “Modular Head”, our Overdrive is extremely versatile. The flat seat tube and the aero post offer optimum airstream alignment.
