More than 15 years ago, CENTURION said goodbye to “Pogo”: Friendly, but definitely. Since then, one of our models has been named “No Pogo” – clearly, distinctly and unopposedly. A name that says it all. Back then, this wonderful two-wheeler immediately obtained the First Prize at the European Bike Contest. This heritage has been characterizing our No Pogos since then. But after those long 15 years, you may have forgotten the original meaning of “Pogo”: The term was defined by MTB riders of the second generation who cycled on suspension bikes of the first generation. It described the fact that the suspension system once influenced the drive-train and vice versa. This annoying struggle did not only reduce pedal power and riding fun: The horrible bouncing and swaying brought the very first fullies a serious acceptance problem – and deservedly so. |
No Pogo put an end to all this – resulting in unexpectedly powerful off-road rides thanks to tremendous traction and enormously enhanced safety. On challenging race courses, this could decide on success or failure (respectively on healthy bones or extension bandage). As a matter of course, the CENTURION No Pogo has been refined continuously. The current version delights with an ingeniously constructed VPP rear stay that even works without a platform shock! In addition, there are big 180 mm disc brakes and mighty 140 mm suspension travel at front and rear – as well as all other technological features that are necessary to cover the range from challenging tours up to more extreme trips across the Alps. |
