CENTURION brand appearance

CENTURION has been representing two-wheeled competence for about 30 years now. Nearly all mountainbikers know the story of company founder Wolfgang Renner who tackled the very first Alpine Cross (Oberstdorf–Lake Garda) together with Andi Heckmair and Wolfgang Strittmatter in 1989. It might be less known that the multiple German CC Champion had explored Tibet by bike already two years before. Nevertheless, both events were crucial for the MTB’s breakthrough: Renner absolved his adventures always on the archetypes of those rugged bikes which he had discovered during a trip to the USA – followed by further development, perfecting procedures and introduction to the German market.

That’s why CENTURION has been radiating a special brilliance since those early days of sportive cycling: The long-established company has been enthusing bike aficionados likewise as “pioneer”, “originator” and “role model” for three decades now. But CENTURION is definitely no pioneer permanently stuck in an obsolete past! Far from it: Since 1982, the Swabian competence centre has been introducing one revolutionary innovation after the other by permanent re-engineering and re-development of models with or without suspension systems. Simultaneously, our quality range for MTB fans, road racers, Cross athletes, touring riders and all other cyclists has been expanded again and again.

However, MY 2011 represents one of the most distinct messages in the history of our company. “Everything shines. Brightly new.” – an unmistakable motto manifesting that CENTURION is always able to combine the bike world’s “yesterday”, “today” and “tomorrow” with best possible effect. So completely re-engineered frame designs and technologies are supported by a new brand appearance with new type face, new design language and new logo – a new CENTURION!

This new look was already introduced at Eurobike 2010. The “Red C” consistently continues throughout our bikes’ visual appearance. But one distinct element still remains in form of “Helmi” (roughly “little helmet”): Our long-time company mascot with its Roman headgear does definitely not retire. So “Helmi” will accompany your and our two-wheeled journeys also in the future!
